It's been some time since we've posted anything to this blog site (almost 13 years by our calculations). As we warm up for our Australian adventure next month, we thought we'd get some practice for our upcoming blog work by completing a posting of our trips to New Brunswick in the summer of 2023 and in the fall of 2023.
Lorraine's father Jacques achieved the grand young age of 91 in October, and we were happy to travel to New Brunswick to celebrate the milestone with him. We really appreciated having the opportunity to spend time with him during our trips out East. While in Fredericton, we stayed with Jacques in his apartment on Victoria Street for both occasions.
We also continue to enjoy spending time with some of Lorraine's other family members during our time in Fredericton. Evelyn, Lorraine's younger sister (not the youngest) moved to Shediac with her husband Lloyd this summer and we were able to visit them in their new house. Lorraine's brother Yvon and his partner Kelly built a brand new house just outside of Fredericton in the grand metropolis of Douglas last year, and we enjoyed a visit from some deer during one of our visits to them during the summer while we were sitting on their back deck. We also paid a visit to Lorraine's niece Lisa, husband Shawn and their clan (our grand nieces and nephews) at their summer trailer park at Hartt Island outside of Fredericton along the beautiful shores of the St. John River.
As always, we love to connect with long-time friends and colleagues when we are in NB. During the summer of 2023, we paid visits to Lorraine's friend Susan Boyd-Drost and her husband Mark in Florenceville where she used to teach. We also travelled to Woodstock to visit Trevor's best man Sam Arnold and his wife Karen,
We eagerly look forward to our annual travels to New Brunswick and really enjoy the "laid-back" lifestyle" of the people and the beautiful scenery. We hope to continue the tradition of travelling to New Brunswick, once again in the summer of 2024. Before that, we plan to enjoy some beautiful summer weather in Melbourne and Brisbane Australia during the months of February and March.
