The Auckland Rellies also have their roots in South Africa. We haven't seen those cousins and their families since we were in that country in the year 2000. It was around that time that Trevor's cousin, Gillian, first immigrated to New Zealand. Ethni followed a few years later.The top photo shows most of the Auckland Family along with the two of us (minus Andre). The Snell family is Lauren Lee, Ethni and Laurence. Heidi and Melanie are back in South Africa.

As you will see from the photos, Ethni is a teacher at Manerewa High School in the Auckland suburbs. She is pictured here with some of her faculty colleagues and in her classroom.
Gillian, has worked for the DB Waitemata Brewery since she first came to New Zealand. She is a customer support analyst for the company which makes its own products as well as Heineken and Amstel. Soft drinks are also made at this location. Gillian is pictured with her future daughter-in-law, Lynne, who also works for DB Brewery in the same department. Below, Gillian is shown with her signature on the hall of honour at DB.
Gillian is married to Andre, an electrician who is currently working during the week doing some major repairs on the turbines at a power station by Lake Taupo, about four hours south of Auckland.
In Gillian's family photo, Gillian, daughter Daniele and Lynne are in the front row. Andre, Charlie, the dog and Gillian's son, Carlo (Lynne's husband-to-be) are in the back row.
The picture below shows Gillian, Andre, Charlie and Daniele. Daniele is fourteen years old and enjoying being back at high school. Charlie is a new addition to the family and is full of energy. Below that photo is one of Carlo and Lynne who are expecting to be married in 2010.
Andre is an avid boater and fisherman and is shown with his boat in the incredible waters surrounding Auckland. Finally, Gillian, Daniele and Ethni are shown on the couch visiting us at our apartment at Quest, Newmarket in Auckland.
