Taking advantage of the truly amazing weather (28 degrees), we took the opportunity to travel from Lethbridge down to Waterton Lakes National Park for a day trip. The weather was not wasted as we took the opporunity to enjoy a two-hour boat cruise on Upper Waterton Lake. The International, is a boat built during the 1930s to transport firefighters to various parts of the lake.
The fascinating thing about this boat tour is that half of the route is in the United States. In fact, the boat takes its passengers to Goat Haunt, which is in Glacier National Park in the United States of America. Passengers disembark for about a half an hour at Goat Haunt and have an opportunity to walk on the shores of the American side without clearing customs. Then, they board the boat again to return to the dock at the Waterton town site. Our only regrets on this day were that the day couldn't have been longer.Photos:
